KERR, WHITMAN, MCKENY, CARSON
I am researching the KERR family, particularly the family of DAVID KERR b. 31 AUG 1812 Deer Creek, VA; died July 1890 probably in Millboro, WVA (or is it VA?)
He married Elizabeth Whitman. He was the son of Daniel Kerr and his second wife, Nancy Ann McKeny. I am extremely interested in finding the descendents of their children. One of them may have the original family Bible which came from Scotland and acc. to a letter written in 1900, dates back to the late 1600's. This would be priceless for our research.
David and Elizabeth Whitman Kerr had five children:
1. William Whitman Kerr, DDS b. 1839 nr. Green Bank, VA (Did not marry) d. 1910 Batesville, Arkansas
2. Sarah McKemy Kerr b. 1842 nr. Green Bank, VA d. 1862
3. Mary Elizabeth(Lizzie) Kerr b. 1846 nr. Green Bank, VA In 1900 was living with brother, Dr. A.F. Kerr in Millboro & not married
4. Adolphus Kerr, MD b. 1849 nr. Green Bank, VA Married
5. Margaret J. Kerr b. 1852 nr. Green Bank, VA (Married Rev.J.C. Carson- d. 1932 in Blountsville, TN moved to Blountsville,TN)
We have a copy of a priceless letter written in 1900 by Lizzie to her first cousin, my husband's grandfather, about the fact that Lizzie's father, very frail, had tried to keep up the family Bible which they still had in 1900. It had come from Scotland and had all the family dates written in it. I wrote to the Bath County Historical Society last fall for help but have never had an answer. I now have a computer and tonight found the web sites for Bath County. I also have another source, James Wooddell in Green Bank - another cousin has met him. But my letter to him came back as not deliverable, although his name is still listed in the web phone book and it is the same address that the cousin had.
We would love to just look at this Bible, and I am willing to fly to Virginia or West Virginia to see it. Also have family in Maryland that could drive down to see it. It is very important to the family just to know that it still exists. Thank you.

KEYSER
I am from Charleston West Virginia but I am researching my maternal grandfather's family. His family is from Bath County. His father's name was George Keyser who was the son of Hezekiah. Hezekiah was in the Civil war and is buried in a Civil war cemetary here in Charleston. It was after the war that the Keyser family came to Charleston.
If you have any information or can help us in any way it would be greatly appreciated. Knowing Hezekiah's wife's name would be very helpful!! Please respond to my mothers e mail address above.
