I am researching these families in Bedford County, VA. In 1763 Elizabeth Gilbert and
Thomas Gash were married in Bedford County, VA. Peter Brooks surety, and Preston
Gilbert a witness. Elizabeth could have been the widow of Jarvis Gilbert. Some how
these families have to be connected to the Brook family, because I have come upon Jarvis
Brook, Gilbert Brook and Preston Brook. Please, if you know anything please

I am looking for information on the MORRIS, SHAON and INMAN families of
Bedford and Pittsylvania Counties in Virginia. I am most interested in pre-1840 information.
Specifically, I am looking for the parents of Doctor Franklin MORRIS born about 1813. His
mother may have been named Nancy. He married Sarah SHAON in December 1835 and moved to
Kanawha WV in the 1840s. He may have had a brother named Stephen who married Martha and also
ended up in Kanawha County. Any information would be much appreciated. Thanks.
