Trying to learn about the family of Henry L. Davis b. 1808 m. Mary A. Cobbs 1830 in
Bedford Co. Children were Eliza, Virginia, Tom, Mary, Adison, Charlotte and Lettie (1850 census).
Would love to locate descendants, as I descend from Henry's brother Micajah Davis
(1813-1898), who was sheriff, CSA tax collector and judge in Bedford co.

I have my line of DAVISes in Bedford Co. back to the Revolution, but know next to nothing
about my grandmother's immediate family! She was Clara Hoffman Davis b. 1885 in Bedford,
dtr of Clara M. Hoffman and George Wadsworth Davis. Known siblings are Samuel B.,
Ellen and Annis. Any information about this family would be greatly appreciated. Also know the
names of bridesmaids at her 1906 marriage to Beverly Tate WREN: Florrie Jordan,
Rose O'Hara, Elizabeth Bolling and Sallie Johnston. Would love to hear from
descendants of these ladies.

FRANKLIN and Alvin CLAYTOR; Hairston, born 1804 mar. Elizabeth HUBBARD;

Still researching the Merchants of Bedford Cty, mainly Charles Merchant (my ggg
grandfather) b. about 1827, listed as 4 years old in 1831 Free Register. The
Merchants seemed to have disappeared after 1830 something. I did find Charles in 1860
census of Botetourt Cty. in Poage household as a laborer. Any info. would be tremendous help.

BLANKENSHIP -
Seeking names of parents/siblings of Rowland BLANKENSHIP born in Va abt 1786. Not sure of
place of birth but he lived in Bedford County before being found in Tn in 1812. Father's name was
possibly Joseph. Could have been closely related to Edmund BLANKENSHIP who lived in
Bedford County until ca 1807/08.
