Ancestors of Mead and his father, John HAILE/ HALE. Much of the info which I had received which showed these men to be descended from Nicholas I, II, and III seems to be incorrect. I'm trying to figure out how to go about correcting it and need to find proof that my Mead's parents were, indeed, John and Nancy Ann Overstreet HAILE. They would have been married ca 1768 which is before the records listed on the website. Can anyone help? This whole thing is really frustrating. Thanks so much,

Seeking information on this David Ross. Oxford Iron Works, Bedford county. Signed David Ross. Dec. 12 1777.
Historic Sites of Sullivan Co., TN states that in 1795 David Ross of VA sent agents to build a Great Iron Furnace and in 1795 leased his "Publick House" to Wm. McCormack and Michael Montgomery for 30 years. Ross purchased this property from John Menefee and Christian Rhodes in 1790 as part of 2480 acres which these men had received as a North Carolina land grant in 1782. The property remained in the Ross family for many years. In 1817 it was inherited by his son-in-law Jacob Myers who built a large mill a few hundred feet from the old log house. Nearby Jacob Myers also built his plantation called Woodlawn which was inherited by his son in law C. W. Hall in 1841. The property remained in the Hall family until 1854 when it was divided into smaller sections and sold.

I am seeking the ancestors of William and James Thomas of Bedford, Virginia. http://familytreemaker.genealogy.com/users/t/h/o/Claude-A-Thomas-GA/index.html James was married to Elizabeth Aunspaugh in 1817 in Bedford. I can't find the line on his father, William who was married to Mary Caffery, although his gravesite is listed in the Bedford Museum graves registry as "Revolutionary Soldier". I think he was from Wales, and may have lived in Albemarle or Charles City before Bedford. James' son, William Peter THOMAS is my great grandfather, a Civil War soldier on whom I have a lot of information.
