I am looking for the location of the Alley Cemetery in Carroll co. My gg Grandmother Melinda E. Davidson Porter Alley is buried there. She is the mother of my G. Grandfather John Porter. Also was wondering where in Carroll co. is her husband Harold Porter who died 1 May 1870 is buried. Any information is appreciated. Thank you for your time.

I am searching for the parents of John Virgil MOORE, 1837 - 1906 and Nancy "Nannie" J. BURNETT, 1840 - 1908. They are buried in the Hillsville North End Cemetery of Carroll Co. They may have originally come from the Mt. Airy, Surry Co., NC area. Any leads to these families would be greatly appreciated.

Seeking info on Samuel Cassell MCMILLIAN and wife Laura Elizabeth DAWSON.
Samuel Cassell MCMILLIAN b. 3 Dec 1898 in VA(?) d. 9 Apr 1995 in Carroll Co., VA m. 11 Apr. 1920 at the County line of Patrick and Carroll Co, VA
"They were married on April 11, 1920, under a black gum tree on the Patrick/ Carroll County line by Constable Matt Ayers. They chose to be married on the county line because Cassell lived in Carroll County and she, in Patrick County. They compromised on the location of their wedding and spoke their vows right on the line."
Laura Elizabeth DAWSON b. 17 Mar. 1901 in VA d. ?
Laura's mother was Emma Etta HALL who lived to be 109!

Looking for information on a Nannie Warf; believe her mother might have been Irene "Raney" Warf. She had two children I know of but did not raise either; one was my grandmother, Georgie Ellen Parnell Caviness (raised by her father,George Parnell), the other was Emmett Woods, adopted by or raised by a Woods family. Know some information and at some point may have been in Carroll or Wythe Counties. Any help would be great. Thanks.

My g-grandfather was Hillary A. Peele. He was born 1836 in Surry Co. NC. I think he died in CARROL CO VA. He was working in the lead mine, I think sometime between 1890-1900. Can you help me with this? Thank you so much for any help. Mary Gooch
