BICKLEY, DAY, DUNN, HONAKER, RENEAU, WEEKS -
I am interested in infomation concerning the family of my great grandfather, Peter Day,
also known as Reverend Simon Peter Day, born in Carroll Co, Va, in 1836. I am proud to have Peter
Day's family Bible, containing the following family records. Scanned images are available
if you are interested.
Peter Day - (born March 18,1836)
Wife - Timrinznay
Weeks (born November 24, 1836) (married on March 26, 1857)
Children - George
Washington Day (born February 18, 185?, the year is unclear)) ("departed this life" ((my
great grandfather's words)) on September 2, 1859)
John Quincy Day (born December 26,
185? , the year is unclear)
Timrinznay Weeks Day (departed this life May 28, 1861)
Second wife -Malinda W. Honaker (married on July 12, 1865) She was born in
Virginia, full name Malinda Wilburn Bickley Honaker. All of the following children
were born in Texas.
Children - Elizabeth Caroline Day (born May 17, 1866) ) (departed
this life July, 1867)
Lillie Virginia Day - (born March 20, 1868)
Lorenzo Dow
Day - (born December 16, 1869) (departed this life May 29, 1922, buried in Farmersville,
Collin County, Texas) This was my grandfather. I believe he may have been named after an uncle,
also named Lorenzo Dow Day, who my research has shown died on December 1, 1858 in Carroll Co, Va.
This Lorenzo Dow Day was shown to be the son of Joseph and Rebecca Day, and the
information was provided by a Peter Day. Wife - (Mary Elizabeth Reneau) (born April
3, 1904, Chenute, Pickett Co, Tennessee) (departed this life July 11, 1965, Del Rio, Texas). This
was my grandmother, the only person in this listing of my family that I knew.
Joseph
Patton Day - (born April 29, 1874)
George Washington Day - (born February 26,
1875)
Mary May Day - (born May 14, 1876)
Ellis M. Day - (born December 30,
1877)
Harvey Bruce Day - (born January 26, 1880)
All of the underlined names are
in Peter Day's Bible. In research done by others, I found a Peter Day, born in 1836
in Carroll Co, Va, who married a Gomaxency Weeks, on April 8, 1857, in Carroll County, Va.
Note that my great grandfather, Peter Day, married Timrinznay Weeks on March 26,
1857. The name Weeks, the unusual first names, and the same marriage year in the same
county, lead me to believe that the two Weeks, Gomaxency and Timrinznay, may be the same
person. I would appreciate any clarification of the Weeks information, plus any help with
Peter Day. In particular, is he the son of Rebecca Dunn and Joseph Day, Sr,
who died in Carroll Co, Va, in 1855.
