It appears that John H. Stokes married second Peggy TATUM in 1821 in Williamson Co, TN, likely daughter of John TATUM. Need more information on STOKES/TATUM connections.

I am looking for information on John T. PALMER who was born in Charlotte Co. circa 1830. He enlisted in the Confederate Army in Charlotte Co. I have no date of birth or death. I would be most interested in the name of his parents. He married Joanna EUCOMBE whom I believe to be from Charlotte Co. also.

HOLLOWAY I am trying to find the family of Priscilla HOLLOWAY who married Carlos WOOD in 1785 in Prince Edward Co. VA. Priscilla was the daughter of John HOLLOWAY. Carlos was the oldest son of Joseph and Martha Epperson WOOD. They had one child, James Morton WOOD. Priscilla apparently died by 1797 when Carlos remarried. Carlos lived in Prince Edward County and Charlotte County. He had relatives in Botetourt County and Bath County. He died in Prince Edward County in 1828 at the home of a RUSSELL. Any help is appreciated.

We've been told that her ancestors founded Keysville, VA and we would like to find out as much as we can about them. Unfortunately, we do not know any of their given names. His father was John GILLIAM, born in England (date unknown), imigrated to Virginia abt 1780 and died in Charlotte County (date unknown). Any help would be appreciated. According to family she had sisters Elizabeth HOLT, Polly HARRIS, Temperance BAILEY. Thomas BAILEY may be her brother-in-law married to above Temperance. Glassery does not appear in 1820 census with Carlos. Carlos died in Prince Edward Co. in 1828.

I am looking for information concerning my grandparents- Rev. Abraham Lincoln MACK and Mary Simms MACK. Rev. MACK, an African Methodist Episcopal minister, may have been born in CHarlotte Court House but it has been said that Mary was born in North Carolina and sent to Charlotte Court House as a very young girl to be a servant for a European American family. She never saw or heard from her family again. Rev. MACK has a brother named George Washington MACK. Abraham and Mary were born in the late 1800's and later married in the early 1900's (?). Abraham died in 1967 he may have been around 75 at this time. and Mary died in 1965(?). They left Charlotte Court House and settled in Chatham, Virginia (Pittsylvania, County). One daughter remains in Chatham and recently retired from teaching elementary school there (Virginia Mack JOHNSON). Any information will be appreciated.

Mary MALONE, John CREWS and wife Sarah filed a suit in Charlotte Co. Va against the estate of George REDMOND/REDMAN to claim 280 acres of land in Charlotte Co. about 1792. George REDMOND was a full brother to Mary MALONE (wife of Phillip MALONE) and half-brother to Sarah CREWS. I would like to know the outcome of this suit. When the suit was filed, the plaintiffs were living in Fayette Co. Kentucky and William MORTON acted as their representative in Charlotte Co. VA. Also would like to know more about the family of John CREWS and Sarah.

I am looking for death record or will for Daniel H. WOODALL sometime after 1880 in Tazewell, Virginia. He was married to Sarah (Sally) WOODALL. They were both born in Charlotte, Co. Va. They were married in Pittsylvania Co. Va in 1815. The Virginia Census shows them living in Tazewell in 1860. Sarah died in 1861. Daniel continued to live in Tazewell at least until 1880. Seeking information on John Freeman WILSON, slave/son of Hudson WILSON. He married Ellvira Ellen HAMLETT, also a slave, in the home of John HAMLETT in Briery Church, Keysville. The presiding Presbyterian minister was a Rev. Mr. WHERRY. John Freeman WILSON probably added the "Freeman" when he was freed from slavery. He worked as an apprentice building contractor to a Mr. HARDY, possibly of Lunenburg Co. I am a descendant of John Freeman WILSON and Ellvira Ellen HAMLETT. I may be related to Hudson WILSON and John HAMLETT as well. Info on Rev. WHERRY or Mr. HARDY may lead to further documentation on the two slaves.

James CRAFTON died in Charlotte Co., VA 13 May 1779. His wife's name was Karrenhapprich_____? He left a will in Charlotte Co. His wife remarried following his death. This second husband's name was RUCKES or RUCKER. His children were William, Richard, John, Anthony, Thomas, James, Joseph, Ann CRAFTON TATUM, and Elizabeth CRAFTON ROBERTSON. Elizabeth is presumed dead at the time of the will, as her children were named as heirs. James served in the Revolutionary War. Does anyone know anything about his parents or his wife's surname? Seeking the parents of Joel Joseph FARRELL (FERRELL), b. 12 June 1816 in Charlotte Co. He d. 8 Sept 1889 in Collin Co.,TX. On 30 Sept 1841, in Charlotte Co., he m. Mary Jane NEWCOMB. Her mother, Mourning NEWCOMB, signed the marriage bond. Does anyone know who her father was? Joel's parents were Anderson Bannister FARRELL and Jinsey COLLINS, but I've been unable to find additional information about them.
