In the name of God Amen. I Robert Puckett of County of Charlotte and parish of cornwall being
weak in body but of sound mind and memory calling to mind the mortality of man, knowing it is
appointed for all men to die, do make this my Last Will and Testament, that is to say, I resign my
soul to god who gave it me, and my Body to the dust again to be buried in a Christian like
manner–and as Touching my worldly Estate wherewith I hath pleased almighty God to bless me
with, I devise in the following manner, viz, first my desire is that all my Lawful debts be paid,
secondly I lend to my beloved wife Elizabeth Puckett the lands she now lives on in Campbell
County with all the Estate both real and personal which she is now in possession of during her
natural life, to her use and her children only, and after the decease of my said wife Elizabeth my
desire is that the whole of said land and said Estate above mentioned be equally divided between
all my children which came of her body, namely, Claybore Puckett, Patty Lewis, Nathaniel
Puckett, Isham Puckett, Fleming Puckett, Charles Puckett, Shippy Allen Puckett, Thomas
Puckett, and Francis Puckett, to them and their heirs forever–My desire is that all my debts be
paid out of my Estate which I possess in Charlotte County, and the remainder of such Estate I
lend to Sarah Potter during her natural life and at her decease to be equally divided between
Robert Potter, Douglas Potter, Allen Potter, Nancy Wmly Potter, Jeney Whiten Potter, to them
and their heirs forever, and if she should from her being pregnant have a child which may
survive my desire is that such child have an equal share of my Estate as above to it and its heirs
forever–and I do hereby disannul all former Wills and Legacies heretofore made by me and I do
hereby appoint Claibore Puckett, Mathew White, and William White my whole and Sole
Executors of this my Last Will and Testament. In Witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand
and affixed my Seal this 1st day of September 1795.
