This Indenture made the Seventh day of July In the Year of our Lord One Thousand Seven hundred and Thirty nine Between Fran: Tucker of the County of Amelia of the one part and Thomas Hood of the Same County of the other part Witnesseth that the Said Francis Tucker for and in Consideration of the Sum of twenty pounds Currant Money of Virginia to him in hand paid by the Said Thos Hood . . . doth grant & Bargain Sell and Confirm unto the Said Thomas Hood his heirs and Assigns One Certain Tract or parcell of Land Containing by Estimation three hundred Acres more or less being part of a greater Tract lying on both Sides of the Great Branch of Wintocomaick Creek in the County aforesaid Bounded as follows Begining at a corner Black Oak on the uper Side of the Said Branch Thence East forty one and a half Degrees South One hundred and Seventy two poles to Bollings Line Thence along his line West twenty one Degrees South two hundred and tenn poles to a Corner Thence North twenty Nine degrees West two hundred and thirty Six poles to a faced Corner Thence North twenty five Degrees East one hundred and four poles to a Small Spring Branch Thence up the Said Branch as it meanders to a Corner Poplar at the heatd thereof Thence by a line of Markt Trees to a Corner large pine Thence South Sixteen and a half Degrees East to the Begining . . . At a Court held for Amelia County the XX of July MDCCXXXIX Francis Tucker presented and acknowledged this his Deed and livery and Seisen unto Thomas Hood which is admited to Record Ann the wife of the said Francis being first privately Examined and Voluntary assenting thereto relinquished her right of Dower in the land conveyed by the said Deed.
