This Indenture made this Twenty fourth day of December in the year of our Lord one thousand seven hundred & ninety six Between David Tucker the Elder of the County of Brunswick of the one part and David Tucker the younger of the said County of the other part Witnesseth that the said David Tucker the elder for and in consideration of the Natural Love & affection which he doth bear unto his said son David Tucker the younger as also for the further consideration of the sum of one Dollar currant money of Virginia to him in hand paid . . . doth give Grant bargain sell enfeoff & confirm unto the said David Tucker the younger and to his heirs & assigns forever one tract or parcel of Land whereon the said David Tucker the elder now lives containing by estimation three hundred acres be the same more or less and bounded as followeth to wit Beginning on Ready Branch adjoining the Lands of Charles Abernathy decd. thence along the said Abernathy line to Nathaniel Kings land thence along the said Kings line to Hartwell Tuckers land thence along the said Hartwell Tuckers line to the ready Branch against Wright Tuckers land thence down the said Branch to the Beginning . . . and the said David Tucker the younger for himself his heirs Executors & administrators doth covenant & agree to and with the said David Tucker the elder that he the said David Tucker the younger his heirs Executors administrators & assigns shall & will permit & suffer the said David Tucker the elder to have hold use occupy & enjoy the aforesaid Land for & during the natural life of the said David Tucker the elder in as full & compleat & ample manner as if the same were his own property and to dispose of the whole profits arising from the aforesaid Land free from the interruption control or denial of him the said David Tucker the younger . . . During the Natural life of him the said David Tucker the elder as aforesaid it being the true intent & meaning of these presents that the said David Tucker the younger have no control or management of his Father otherwise than he shall be authorized by his said father until the natural death of him the said David Tucker the elder. . . Brunswick County Court June 23rd 1800. This Indenture of Bargain & sale was proved by the oath of Wright Tucker a witness thereto & having been proved on the 22nd day of July 1799 by the oaths of Hartwell Tucker & Sterling Tucker witnesses thereto the same is ordered to be recorded.
