This Indenture made this Sixteenth day of January in the year of our Lord Christ one thousand Seven hundred and thirty Seven (Eight) Between William Moore of Brunswick County in the Colony of Virginia planter of the one part and Thomas Tucker of the Same County and Colony planter of the other part Witnesseth that the said William Moore for and in Consideration of the Sum of twenty Nine pounds Curt. Money of the Colony afsd. to him in hand paid by the Said Thomas Tucker . . . doth Grant bargain and Sell unto the Said Thomas Tucker . . . one Certain tract or parsell of Land Containing two hundred and thirty five Acres Lying and being on the South Side of Nottoway River in the County afsd. and bounded as followeth (to witt) begining at a Rock Stone on the South Side of the Rockey Runn a Corner of Richard Moore's Land thence West by North one hundred & fifty eight poles to three trees chopt inwards in Thomas Doans? Line then by Doeys? Line South twenty five degrees East Sixty poles to a white Oake and West one hundred and fourty five poles to a red oake then South fifteen degrees East one hundred & Eight pole to a red oake then South Eighty two degrees East two hundred & Sixty Seven pole to a Red Oake a line tre of Richard Moore's Land and then by Moores Lines North twenty degrees West thirty three poles to a red oake and North one hundred & fourty pole to the begining as afsd it being the tract of Land Granted unto Charles Kymball by Patent bearing date the twenty Second day of february one thousand Seven hundred & twenty four . . . Signed by William Moore and witnessed by John Bagby [or Bagley](by his mark), and John Martin. At a Court held for Brunswick County the first Day of June anno Dom. MDCCXXXVIII William Moore and Susanah his Wife (She being first privately Examined) came into Court and presented and acknowledged this Lease for Land to Thomas Tucker which at the motion of the Said Tucker is dmitted to Record.
