Edmond Logwood and wife, Mary,

Jesse Tucker

This Indeter (sic) made the sixteenth day of January in the year of our lord one thousand seven hundred and seventy seven Between Edmond Logwood and Mary his wife of the one part and Jesse Tucker of the other part Witnesseth that for and in consideration of the sum of fifty pounds current money of Virginia by the said Jesse Tucker to me the said Edmond Logwood in hand paid at or before the sealing and delivering of these presents the receit (sic) whereof I do hereby acknowledge and thereof do quit and discharge the said Jesse Tucker his heirs executors and administrators we the said Edmond Logwood and Mary his wife have granted bargained sold aliened enfeoffed and confirmed and by these presents do grant bargain sell alien enfeoff and confirm unto the said Jesse Tucker his heirs and assigns forever one certain tract or parcel of land lying on the North side of William Strattons spring branch containing by estimation fifty acres be the same more or less it being part of a tract of land the said Logwood purchased of Abraham Warrensmack [Wommack]? and was conveyed to him by indenture bearing date the twenty ninth day of January one thousand seven hundred and sixty seven and recorded in the county court of Cumberland and bounded as follows beginning at a corner red oak on William Strattons line and continued on the said line to William Strattons spring run down the said run as it meanders to a corner beach thence on Thomas Strattons line to a corner Hickory on Robert Murreys line thence on Robert Murreys line to the begining (sic) and all houses buildings yards gardens woods ______, waters watercourses profits commodities privileges advantages appertenacnes whatsoever to the same belonging or in any wise appertaining and the reversion and reversions remainder and remainders rents and issues thereof and the estate right title interest property claim and demand whatsoever of the said Edmond Logwood and Mary his wife either in law equity of in and to all and singular the above granted premises and every part and parcel thereof appertenances To have and to hold all and singular the premises with the appertenances unto the said Jesse Tucker his heirs and assigns to the only use and behoof of the said Jesse Tucker his heirs and assigns forever And the said Edmond Logwood and Mary his wife and their heirs all and singular the premises ________ with the appurtenances against them the said Edmond Logwood and Mary his wife and their heirs and assigns forever shall and will warrant and forever defend by these presents In witness whereof the parties to these presents have hereunto interchangeably set their hands and affixed their seals the day and year first above written. Signed by Edmond Logwood and Mary Logwood, and witnessed by Nicholas Spears, Jno. Mountague, and Thos. Tucker.

At a Court held for Cumberland county 27th January 1777 This Indenture was acknowledged by Edmund Logwood a party thereto and ordered to be recorded.
