This Indenture made this 11th July one thousand seven hundred and ninety five Between Vollentine Tucker of the County of Campbell of the one part; and Thomas Brown of the County of Fluvanna of the other part; Witnesseth that the said Vollentine Tucker for and in consideration of the sum of fifty pounds Current Money of Virginia cash to him in hand paid by the said Thomas Brown, the Receipt whereof the said Vallentine Tucker doth hereby acknowledge hath Bargained and sold unto the said Thomas Brown one certain tract or parcel of land lying and being in the County of Fluvanna on the branches of Ballingers Creek containing four hundred acres be the same more or less and bounded as followeth, to wit, Beginning at John Hayes pointers in Capt. Charles Lynches line & running thence on Hayes's line South fifty five Degrees West one hundred and twelve poles to a pine _____ West one hundred and sixty poles crossing a Branch to Martin Kings Road to pointers, thence a new line South one hundred and seventy eight poles to Pointers in William Murrels line near the said Road, thence on Murrels line North eighty five degrees East seventy five poles crossing the Road to a red oak, south thirteen and a half degrees east one hundred and twenty six poles crossing a branch to Pointers in the said line, thence new line east one hundred and fifty two poles to pointers, and North three hundred and fifty eight poles crossing a Branch to the first station. The above said land with all and every the appurtenances thereunto belonging the said Vollentine Tucker binds himself his heirs Executors & Administrators to warrant and forever defend by these presents as good and lawful right and title in fee simple free and clear of all incumbrances unto the said Thomas Brown his heirs and assigns forever. At a Court held for Fluvanna County the first day of September 1796. This Deed was this day in open Court proved to be the act of Valentine Tucker, party thereto by the oath of Henry Martin Junr. one of the witnesses thereto and having been heretofore proven by the oaths of William Silley and John Silley the other witnesses thereto is ordered to be recorded.
