Martin Tucker and wife, Eliza,
to
Isaac A. Goddin

This Indenture made this twenty third day of September in the year of our Lord One thousand eight hundred and thirty three Between Martin Tucker and Eliza his wife of the City of Richmond of the first part and Isaac A. Goddin of the County of Henrico of the other part Witnesseth that the said Martin Tucker and Eliza his wife for and in consideration of the sum of ten dollars to them in hand paid by the said Isaac A. Goddin the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged, hath granted bargained and sold aliened released and confirmed and doth, by these presents grant bargain and sell alien release and confirm unto the said Isaac A. Goddin and his heirs one forever all their right title and interest on and to a certain piece or parcel of land lying and being in the County of Henrico upon meadow bridge road, near the City of Richmond and adjoining the lands of Doct. John Hays and David Clopton deceased being one sixth of the lot of land which William Beverage purchased of David Clopton in aforesaid County of Henrico which will more fully appear by reference to Clopton's deed which is of record in the Clerks Office of the County Court of Henrico. To have and to hold the said interest being one sixth part of said piece or parcel of land adjoining as aforesaid with the appurtenances and premises unto him the said Isaac A. Goddin his heirs and assigns to his and their only proper use and behoof forever. And the said Martin Tucker and Eliza his wife for themselves and their heirs the said interest in the said piece or parcel of land with the appurtenances and premises unto the Isaac A. Goddin his heirs and assigns against all persons claims and demands whatsoever, do and will warrant and forever defend by these presents. In witness whereof we have hereunto set our hands and affixed our seals this the day and year first above written. Signed by Martin Tucker (by his mark) and Eliza Tucker (by her mark).

Henrico County to wit: We J. G. Mosby and Jesse Snead Justices of the Peace in the County of Henrico in the state of Virginia do hereby certify that Eliza Tucker the wife of Martin Tucker parties to a certain deed bearing date the 23d Septem. 1833 & hereunto annexed, personally appeared before us in our County aforesaid & being examined by us privily and apart from her husband and having the deed aforesaid fully explained to her, she the said Eliza Tucker acknowledged the same to be her act and deed & declared that she had willingly signed sealed & delivered the same and that she wished not to retract it. Given under our hands and seals this 28th day of Septem. 1833. Signed by Jno. G. Mosby and Jesse Snead.

Henrico County to wit: We J.G. Mosby & Jesse Snead Justices of the Peace in and for the County aforesaid do hereby certify that Martin Tucker a party to certain deed bearing date the 23d day of September 1833 and hereunto annexed personally appeared before us in our County aforesaid and acknowledged the same to be his act and deed and desired us to certify the same to the County Court of Henrico in order that the same may be recorded. Given under our hands and seals this 23d day of Septem. 1833. Signed by Jno. G. Mosby and Jesse Sneade.

In Henrico County Court Clerks Office Septem 30th 1833 This Indenture was produced and together with the certificates thereafter written of the acknowledgment of Martin Tucker a party to the same and of the privy examination and relinquishment of Eliza Tucker wife of the said Martin Tucker also a party to the same, before two Justices of the peace for the County of Henrico admitted to record.
