This Indenture made this first day of October in the year of our lord one Thousand seven hundred & Eighty four between Daniel Tucker of Dinwidie (sic) County of the one part & Abner Grigg of the same county of the other Witnesseth that the said Tucker for & in consideration of the sum of Two hundred pounds current money of Virginia hath bargined (sic) sold & delivered & doth hereby bargin (sic) Sell and deliver unto the said Grigg one certain track or parcel of land lying & being in the county of Mecklenburg containing Two hundred & seventy seven acres more of less & bounded as follows (Viz) begining At a corne (sic) hickory & white oak by a pond in Wilborns line then bounded by the lands of the said Wilborns, Harrison Reader & Marshal to the begining (sic) To have and To hold The said land & premisses with all & every the appurtenances thereunto belonging or in any wise appertaining & he the said Tucker doth hereby for himself his heirs &c shall warrent & for ever defend the said land and premisses to the said Grigg his heirs & assigns against the claim title or demand of any person or persons whatsoever in witness whereof he hath hereunto set his hand & seal the day and year above written.
