Know all men by these presents that I Edmund Day of Southampton County & Colony of Virginia am held & firmly bound unto Curle Tucker of Elizabeth Citty county & Colony of aforesd. in the penal sum of six hundred pound Virginia Currency to which payment to be well & truly made to the sd. Curle Tucker his certain attorney his heirs &c. I bind myself my heirs Executors &c firmly by these presents sealed with my seal & dated this thirteenth day of Sept. in the year 1774. The Condition of the above Obligation is such that whereas the above bounded Edmund Day hath bargained and sold unto the said Curle Tucker one Tract of Land Situate in Northampton County near Roanok whereon sd. Days father formerly lived together with the Stock Consisting of Cattle & hoggs together with the Crop of Corn now Standing for the sum of Three hundred pounds with Int. from Next Christmas to be paid at Two payments (Vizt) on the 25 of December 1774 & on the 25 day of Decr. 1775 which sd. Curl Tucker is to Perform against the time appointed or the above obligation is Void on Days side or part & when the foresd. Tucker doth make the above payments according to the time Limited that then sd. Edmund Day or his heirs is to make sd. Curle Tucker or his heirs a lawful deed of conveyance then the above obligation to be Void & of none Effect or otherwise to remain in full force & virtue in Law. Signed by Edmund Day, Junr., and witnessed by John Casey and Henry Gurley. At a Court held for the County of Southampton the 9th day of March 1775. This bond was acknowled (sic) by Edmund Day, Jur. party thereto & ordered to be recorded.
