To all to whom these presents shall come, Anne Randolph sendeth greeting: Whereas her late husband Wm: Randolph of Wilton, in the county of Henrico, deceased did in his lifetime, to wit, on the 20th day of February, 1812 by Indenture of that date, bargain and sell unto a certain Martin Tucker a certain tract or parcel of land lying in the county of Powhatan, containing or supposed to contain Four hundred and ninety seven acres and three fourths of an acre, for the consideration of three thousand four hundred and eight four dollars; and whereas no relinquishment was ever made by the said Anne of her right of dower in the said land, although she has been at all times and still is willing to relinquish the same; now therefore it is witnessed by these presents that the said Anne Randolph, for and in consideration of the premises, and for the further consideration of the sum of one dollar to her in hand paid by the said Martin Tucker, at or before the ensealing and delivery of these presents the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged, hath remised and released, and doth hereby remise and release unto the said Martin Tucker, his heirs and assigns all right of dower which she the said Anne, hath, or may claim of in or to the tract of land so bargained and sold as aforesaid, or any part thereof; And the said Anne Randolph for herself, her heirs, executors, and administrators doth covenant and agree with the said Martin Tucker, that he, the said Martin, his heirs, and assigns, shall quietly hold and possess the said tract of land, free from any claim of dower on the part of the said Anne or of any other person or persons lawfully claiming by, through or under her. In witness whereof she hath hereunto set her hand and seal this 28th day of November 1815. Signed by Anne Randolph and witnessed by Richard Randolph, Thomas Taylor, and Eliza Randolph. Henrico County, to wit: We Geo: Savage and Richa. Randolph, magistrates of the said County, do hereby certify that Anne Randolph, party to the within conveyance, hath duly acknowledged the same before us, on the 28th day of Novr. 1815 and desired us to certify the said acknowledgment to the Clerk of the county court of Powhatan, in order that the said conveyance may be recorded. This day the foregoing deed of Release which has been duly acknowledged by Anne Randolph, a party thereto, to be her act and deed, before two Magistrates of Henrico County, was received in this Office; and together with the certificate of the acknowledgment aforesaid, admitted to record.
