Last Will and Testament
of
Drury Tucker

In the name of God Amen I Drury Tucker being in an ________ State but of sound mine & memory & calling to mind the uncertainty of human life do make and ordain this my last will & Testament hereby revoking all former Wills by me made in manner & form following Viz. Item. It is my will & desire that all my Just debts be Paid. Item. I do give to my Son Isaac Tucker one Negro boy named F____ and one feather Bed & _____ furniture to him and his heirs forever. Item. I do give to my son Littleberry Tucker one Negro girl named Polley & one feather Bed & ______ furniture to him & his heirs forever. Item. I do give to my son Zachariah Tucker one Negroe boy named _______ & one feather Bed & ________ furniture to him & his heirs forever. Item. I do give to my son Pleasant Tucker one Negro boy named Davy & one feather Bed with reasonable furniture to him & his heirs forever. Item. I do lend my Beloved wife Frankey Tucker one third part of the Remainder of my Estate during her natural Life which is in lew of her Dower and it is my wish & desire that she shall receive the same in the same manner as though ____ _____ done pursuant to a decree of Court where the Law provides for Dower & at her decease to be equally divided as hereinafter mentioned. Item. It is my will & desire that the remainder of my Estate both real & personal be Equally Divided between my Eleven Children: Mary Douglus, William Tucker, Daniel Tucker, Martha Rucker, Matthew Tucker, Milley Harrison, Robert Tucker, Isaac Tucker, Littleberry Tucker, Zachariah Tucker & Pleasant Tucker all to them & their heirs forever. Item. It is my Will & desire that the one third part herein lent to my loving Wife during her natural Life shall at her decease be equally divided between my Eleven Children as aforementioned. Lastly I do hereby appoint my Trusted friends Daniel Tucker & Littleberry Tucker, my Executors to this my last will. In testimony whereof I have hereunto set my hand & Seal this twenty sixth day of February One thousand Seven hundred & ninety Eight. Signed by Drury Tucker (by his mark) and witnessed by George Dillard, Wm. Penn of ____, Henry Cain ___, Charles Burras and _______________ _____.

At a Court held for Amherst County the 21 Day of Sept. 1801. This Will was proven by the oaths of George Dillard, William Penn __ _ Henry Cain witnesses thereto and ordered to be recorded. And at a Court held for the said County the 19 day of October 1801, Daniel Tucker one of the Executors named in said Will personally appeared in Court and qualified according to Law & gave Bond with John Penn & Ambrose Rucker as his securities in the penalty of twenty thousand Dollars Current money conditioned as the Law directs _____ ____ is granted him for obtaining a probat thereof in due form.
