In the name of God Amen I James Tucker Senr. of Mecklenburg County ___ Being Sick and weak in Body I do this Nineteenth of Ocotber 1770--but of a perfect and Sound Memory thanks be to God therefore Caling to mind the Mortality of my Body do here make and dictate this my last will and Testament on the folling manner and form first and Principally I Recommend my Soul to god, who gave it and my Body to the Earth from whence it Came to be Buried in as Christian like & Deacent Manner, and as for Such Estate where with it hath pleased God to bless me on this life I give and Dispose of on the following manner. Item. I give unto my Son Robert one hundred acres of land known by the name of his Clearing and to Ealon's up to my Son James Tucker's line for the Completment of him and his Heirs forever. Item. I give to my son Elijah the Plantation whereon I live with _____ hundred acres of land joining Roberts at the Deviding line between ______ after the death of my wife dath of my wife (sic). Item I give unto my Son George One hundred acres of land lying on Jones's line and being the last part of the first tract I Bought of My son Jas. Tucker to him and his Heirs forever. Item I give the last Tract of land I purchased of my Son James Tucker and Known by the name of Bilboes to be Equally Divided between my other three Sons my Son Mathew part to be laid off on the South Side the Spring Branch to make his Complomon and my Sons Harberds part to be laid of West of Murpheys line and to include _____ Clearing and barn and for my s _____atly to have his part of land belowed described and Elijah and I do hereby _____ the above said tracts of land to the _____ ove said sons as they ____ anmed a ____ Heir Heirs forever. Item I give unto my Son Elijah Tucker one negroe boy named Same to him and his forever. Item I give unto my Daughter Lucyetia Barton on copper Kittle. Item I give unto my _____ __all Tucker ___ Shillings Stearling ______ Item Give unto my Son James _______ ten Shillings Sterling Item I give unto my Son Warner Tucker ten Shillings Sterling. Item I give unto my son Hutson Tucker ten Shillings Sterling. Item I give unto my Daughter _______ Hudson ten Shillings Sterling. I give unto my beloved wife one Feather Bed and Furniture Item. I Give all the Residue of my Stock and house hold Goods and Chattles to my well beloved wife and to her to Dispose off as She thinks fitt among my Children and I Constitute and ordain my wife and Benjamon George whole and Sole Executors of this my last will and Testament and my will is that my Estate Should Not be brought to appraisement Neither Sold by out Cry and I declare this and No Other to be my last will and Testament In Witness whereoff I have here unto set my hand and affixed my Seal this 19th day of October 1770.
