In August 1820, John Gregory, David Thompson & Robert Thompson of Lunenburg were 
appointed by the court of Lunenburg to convey the land of William Weatherford deceased to Judy 
Weatherford, William Weatherford, Polly Weatherford, Tabitha Weatherford, Peggy Weatherford, 
Anna Weatherford & Martin Weatherford all children and  heirs of said decedent.  The land was 
described as 235 acres in Lunenburg on both sides of High Gate Creek, bounded by the heirs of 
Joseph Weatherford, Senr., John Brown, William Deupree, Robert Saunders, Cornelius Johnson, 
David Marergoes? estate and dower line of sd decd ____? relict being the land that William 
Weatherford dies seized of. (Lun. DB 25:127)

Taxed on the waters of High Gate Creek in 1851:


Mary Burns,160 acres, 15 miles SW of courthouse; no bldg.; transf. from Ricd Burn's estate 1847.  


Wyatt T. Newcomb, 72 acres, 15 miles SW of courthouse; no building included in tax. (Taxed to 
Mary J. Newcomb in 1863.)


John A. Rutledge, 105 1/2 acres, 15 miles SW of courthouse; no house or building.

Hudson 1845. (This was taxed to Allen Duffer estate in 1868.)


Charles Hudson 102 3/4 acres, 13 miles sW of the courthouse; no building; transferred from 
Joshua Hardy estate 1849.
