John and Elizabeth B. Boswell were married in Mecklenburg Co., VA, bond dated 13 Feb 1840. Consent was given by John Bigger father of Elizabeth.. J. W. Yates, Jr. was surety.

Elizabeth apparently was widowed with one child by 1850, when she appeared on the Mecklenburg Census in the household of her parents, John and Sally Bigger. "Betsy" was listed age 40. In the household was one female child, Susan Boswell aged 6.

Perhaps it was Susan who married Patrick H. Davis and appears on the 1870 census of Mecklenburg:
