Thomas Gayle will dated 11 Jan 1855; proved Feb Court 1856 by oaths of John S. R. Burwell, Wm. T. Roberts [married dau of Robert Saunders] & William A. Gregory [Andrew Gregory line]


1st Dau: Elizabeth F. Burwell land, slaves, & other prop. in possession of George W. Burwell her husband.

2nd Dau: Sarah A. S. Gayle (I didn't copy anything else here)

3rdly Wife Elizabeth & residue of my est real & personal...lands, etc. After her death half of est loaned to her to Elizabeth F. Boswell. Other half of wife's share to my own sisters & brothers Nancy Coleman, Christopher Gayle, Sally Crowder, Peter S. Gayle.

After wife's death dau Sarah may if she thinks proper take the mantion house plantation containing abt 1,000 & 50 acres.

Note: George A. Bruce has remarried to Martha S. _____?.

NOTE: The below deed was likely on land already owned by Thomas Gayle? Another thought is the tract of land could have been inherited through the wife of Thomas Gayle, who was a Coleman. The Colemans did own land on the waters of Kettle Cr., in the area of Abbeyville road:
