(A white tithe in 1783 is 21 years of age.)

Columns at top of each page read:
White Tithes
Slaves over Sixteen years
Slaves under Sixteen years
Covering Horses / prices for Season
Pleasure wheels
ordinary License

The tax was assessed at 10 shillings per tithe or slave, 2 shillings per horse, and 3 pence per cow. An ordinary license was 5 pounds. A pleasure wheel (buggy)was 6 shillings.
