I am looking for information on Mary Elizabeth Day and family allegedly from Charlotte
County. She was born Abt. 1841 to parents Joseph Day and Mary Throckmorton, (or

RAWLING, WEST -
Looking for connections to Captain Thomas West's company of Colonel Rawling's
Virginia regiment in the Revolutionary War. Would like to know in which counties this regiment
might have recruited men. An ancestor joined this regiment but I have no idea in which county he
lived. Since his travels to the first battle began in Leesburg, I'm assuming he lived near or in
Loudon county.

BUTTRY, SELF, SPAULDING -
I am looking for my gr-gr grandfather's family. His name was Ephraim Spaulding. The last
known record I have of him is his wedding license. He was married to Sarah Self on August
26, 1824 in Blount County, Alabama. He is found in the 1830 census in Blount County and in the
1840 and 1850 census in Walker County, Alabama, which is near Blount County. In the 1850 census I
find that he was born in 1802 in Virginia. I have searched the records I could find about
Spauldings in Virginia, and the closest I am able to find is an Ephraim Spaulding
who married Sarah Buttry in Botetourt County, Virginia on Dec. 19, 1797. I have tried to
find either The older Ephraim Spaulding or Sarah Buttry in Virginia at a later
date, and so far have had no such luck. I did find a Jane Buttry in Henrico County,
Richmond City, Virginia in the 1850 Federal Census Index. Henrico County was also the home of a
Benjamin F. Spaulding. But, I have made no definite connections yet. I would appreciate
any help I could receive in this quest to find my ancestors. Thanks.
