BROWN, LUCK -
I am looking for families who lived in Louisa Co. Va in the 1700's. They are all ancestors and I
have been trying to trace the families for several years......the first is the family of Tarlton
Brown. He lived in Louisa County and was a "sub-sheriff" in the 1780's. I have a document
that says he owed the British Government money and in an Order Book at the Louisa Courthouse it
says that "he had absconded to the Carolinas"........I have wondered if this could be the same
Tarlton Brown who was born in Albemarle County in 1757.
The next family is that of
Larkin Luck. He was born in the mid-1700's and his mother was said to be Elizabeth
Brown but I can't find out to which Brown family she was related. Her children had
names of Tarlton Luck (Larkin's brother) and Austin Luck and also Barlett
Luck. These are all names found in the Albemarle Brown's Cove people.
I would
love to know what connection they had to the Barnwell SC Tarlton Brown ....... since their
names are the same. Can you help me?
Thank you

LANGFORD -
1745-1749 Birth, Eli Langford .. not located nor parents or siblings?
1765-1769, Eli Langford shows in land records in what is now Patrick/Henry Co VA. ( the
land appears to be close to the border of the two counties on Meadow Creek branch of the Mayo
River.
In 1770 tax list I have not located him. Eli a Sarah unknown married about 1773-4
assumed in Virginia
Sept 1775 their first child was born and list his place of birth as
VA, 1850-1860 census
By 1779 they were living in Lincoln County N.C.
This
family has been DNA tested and we appear to have located all Eli and Sarah's children.
Other than those we have proved to be descendants of Eli & Sarah there are no other DNA
matches..?
Perhaps there is a Langford out there who blood line goes back to VA. that
could be related.. or did Eli just get off the boat.? Where would I find ship passenger
list..
Any ideas, place to look would be a great help....MY BRICK WALL.. Thank you

BACCUS, CAYLOR, HESSAR, SNIDER -
Henry Snider, born 13 JUN 1774, Virginia, possibly married Elizabeth Hessar in Ross
county Ohio between 1801 and 1810. Henry appeared on a 1806 tax roll in Ross county. Henry
Snider and his mother-in-law, Ann Hesser are buried in the same small family
cemetery in Fayette county, Ohio.
He was joined by a Jacob Snider born before 1775 who married a Mary Caylor in
Loudon county and by a William, who married a Sarah Baccus in Fayette co, PA in 1801
(previously Monongalia co. VA.) Any help in finding the relationship of these 3 Sniders
(brothers) or where they came from would be greatly appreciated.
We found Henry, Jacob and William Snider's father William in Loudon county, VA where they
were named in the record of William Sr.'s estate. Where they came from before that is still a
mystery. Thanks! Martha
