JONES -
Trying to find information on Mary Alice Armstrong d/o J Riley Armstrong and
Katherine S. Jones. She was born February 7, 1894 according to her marriage record. She
married Bert Howard in Lawrence Co., Ohio in 1913. Also listed he place of birth as Dor
Hill, Va. I can't located what county that is in. Thanks for all help. Jackie

BREWER, DUNCAN, RAINS -
I am looking for the marriage of Ashael RAINS & Melvina DUNCAN. He was born 1772,
so guessed he would have married in about 1792. He purchased property in Greenville Co. in about
1796 and returned from Warren Co.TN after the War of 1812 and sold this same parcel of property.
Also looking for marriage of Solomon BREWER to Elizabeth, and I believe to be the
sister of Melvina DUNCAN. The time period would be about the same. I will be happy to
share any of my RAINS information.

DENNISTON, SCOTT, SMITH, UMBARGER -
I am looking for any lead as to the parents of Scott and William Denniston born in the
late 1700's Scott was born in 1794 in Smyth Co Va .These two were orphaned as boys and raised by
their future inlaws, The Phillip (and Leah Smith) Umbargers. There is a debate as
to whether or not Joseph Denniston and Martha Scott Denniston were their
parents Any leads would be appreciated. Thanks

WOOLS -
I would like some help on where to research my ancestor. On the Census in IN it says that he was
born in VA. His name is Daniel Wools b: 1778 and had a brother Philip who was a few years
older. They lived with their parents, Christopher and Elizabeth Wools and other female
siblings in KY in 1788. Other than checking each and every county for these names, is there
another way that would be quicker?

I am researching for the family of Rebecca COOPER, born 1805 to unknown parents. Unknown
county. In Virginia. She married Jeremiah MERRICK, born in NJ. They were in Washington
County, Ohio when they had their children. They ended up in Jackson Vounty, Iowa. Any help is

I am looking for information on John T. Atwood born-1768 in Va. Father- unknown
Atwood, Mother- unknown McGehee. Family legend said that John was a cooper. I do
not know his wife's name but they had 7 children. It appears that he and his wife were born

DUNCAN, JACKSON,
NORTON, SWANN, TURNER -
Searching our ancestary for information or decendents of Simpson DUNCAN and Nathan
DUNCAN. Believe they were born in Virginia between 1800-1810. It is thought they moved to
Georgia about 1826 in accompaniment of their parents to claim land awarded the family during the
Georgia Land Lotteries. On 5 September 1832, Simpson DUNCAN married Mary "Polly"
NORTON in Harris County, Georgia and they had the following children: Josephine [m.
Starling Turner], Thomas, Frances, Martha [M. Henry Jackson], Jane Victory, George
Washington [m. Mary Elizabeth Turner], Andrew Jackson and Columbus Howard [m. Dolly

DONELSON, SHAFFER -
Searching for birth, marriage and most important the parents of Ebenezer Donelson. He was
born in 1784 or 1782 in VA. Married Barbara Shaffer in 1817. Don't know parents but have
eliminated Col. John Donelson and any of his children. Could be Andrew, Col. John's
brother who was born in 1722 in VA, son of Capt. John Donelson. Also have information on
Ebenezer's stone in Mercer, Missouri. It lists his parents as H.M. and R. It also references his
siblings as Matilda and Weslie (or Leslie?). Appreciate any help you can give or suggestions you
