GLASS -
I am looking for the country of origin of John Glass of York Co. Virginia in the 1600's.
He had a son Thomas Glass who lived in New Kent Co. Va. died in 1734. Thomas Glass
had a son Thomas Glass Jr, who produced two sons Robert born 1701 and Thomas III, not sure
of his birth date. My side of this family branches off from his son Thomas Glass III. The
other brother, Robert produced the line that leads to Senator Carter Glass of Lynchburg
Va, born Jan. 4, 1858. They are probably from England or Scotland, and this is my question. Are
they of Scotish or English origin? The Carter Glass side has been researched by a Mr.
Adams for then Senator Carter Glass, and I am leaning towards believing they were from
England. Just would like to know from where in England. Anybody have any information on this
family?
