Seeking info on Evan Thomas who left Va to NC. He owned land in Chatham and Anson Cos of
NC in late 1700's. I am trying to link his son Bradley Thomas to John Tapley Thomas
or Sarah Thomas who were married in Jackson Co GA in 1831.

I'm looking for the parents and sibblings of David W. Bradley birth 19 June 1811/1814 in
Hardy, Virginia. He married 7 Sep 1837 in Delaware, Ohio and his death was 15 January 1862/1863
in Springfield, Iowa Spouse Eunice Hawk birth 13 Aug 1818/1820 in Hardy, Virginia and
death 18 October 1910 Amoret, Bates, Missouri

WALKER -
Looking for father of Alexander Walker, b. ca. 1813 in VA. St. Clair Co. MO History states
the father's name is James Walker from VA "who served in the War of 1812" though not sure
this is correct. Alexander Walker ended up in Darke Co. OH by 1830. James may or may not
have been with him. This has eluded me for ages...does anyone know where to look next?

JONES, NEWBY -
I am trying to find the parents of a Thomas W. Newby, b1808 in VA, m. Phoebe Joyce
Jones in 1844 in Ill. and d. 1879 in Mt. Sterling, Ill. The W. could be for Williams or
Whiting - I'm not sure. Any help is appreciated. They had children, including an Issac Newton
Newby, in Ill.

I am looking for information on my great-great grandfather, William Tate. I believe he was
born in June 1852. I know that he was married to Annie Baremor (or Baremore). Annie
was born on August 26, 1866 in VA, the town/county may be part of WV now.

KNOTT, KNOTTS -
Looking for information on James KNOTT. He arrived at VA in 1617 abd the "George". I
believe he is the ancestor for almost half of the KNOTT/S' in the US. My KNOTTS'
were in the MD Eastern Shore at least as early as 1770. Bob K, PHX, AZ.

HOLIDAY, LECOMPTE -
I am trying to research my great-grandfather, John Holiday. He was born @1843,first
showing on a Census in 1860 as 15 yo,living with the William LeCompte family on
Bloodsworth Island [Dorchester County, Md]. I have heard he was orpaned/indentured,but can locate
a prior history for him. I am exploring as to whether he may have come from the bayside counties
of Va. [i.e. Northumberland]. Can you help or advise. I am driven to find his origins. Thank you.

CHISWELL, COSTELLO, HILL, MAHONEY,
STACY -
I am researching William Hill (confirmed) who married Catherine Stacy 1745
Overwharton Parish Records (OPR). I believe that his father was John Hill who died in 1743
(OPR). John's Stafford Co. will states that his widow was Elizabeth M. Hill. A John
Hill and Elizabeth Mahoney married in 1716 in St. Paul's Parish. I also have a will
of William Hill (wives Anne Chiswell and Alice Costello) which states that:
"Grandson William Hill, son of John Hill, -one ten shilling ring". Dates and area
are a fit but no proof. Can anyone help?

HOUCK, JACKSON -
I was able to obtain my Great, Great Grandfather Peter Houck and Great, Great Grandmother
Lucinda Houck's marriage bond. They were married January 8, 1846 in Madison, Virginia.
Lucinda's father John H. Jackson and Larkin E. Jackson signed the bond. I have been
unsuccesful in locating either John H. or Larkin on Virginia records. Could you give me some
suggesstions for locating these two people?

CLARK -
Horace F. Clark b/1823, in Va. died Lamar County, Tx., 1866 on his property by a gun shot
wound. Also on that property, buried, W. C. Clark, b/8 Jan. 1790 in Va. , died 19 Oct.
1878 in Lamar County.
