TURBIVILLE -
I am interested in finding family members related to the Name: Aldine Henry Turbeville.
ie: A.H. Turbeville (Turbiville - Turberville). I have found this name in
Civil War records but not information other than Rank, Allegiance, and Unit. He married Annie
Strickland in Texas, moved to Oklahoma Territory, Montana and then California were he died
in Gridley, California. The Gridley cemetery information said he was born in Virginia of French
father/Scotch mother, no names. He was my Great grandfather on my maternal side. If you could
help me I would be most appreciative.

OWENS, WHITT -
Am looking for date and place of death information on Doris Genevieve Whitt Owens,
who I believe was born ca 1933, and died in 1978. She was married and divorced from Robert
Owens; she was a member of the 1951 graduating class of Poquoson High School, in
Poquoson (York County) Virginia. We are trying to put together all the obits of those who have
died from that 1951 class in order to make it available at their next reunion.

Hi, Looking for any information on my Fathers Family from Wise Co. They seem to have vanished
after 1923! Parents were John & Lucinda Collier [nee Belcher]. Children were
Virgie, Alex, Verna Bessie, Dolla Margie, John, Reba, Ruby and Edward. My Father was Edward.

in Russell Co. Kentucky. First appears in Adair/ Russell County Kentucky in 1818 tax rolls.
Received KY Land grant, unknown if earned or purchased. Looking for anyone who may have a Thomas
in their Tree circa 1770's. Info appreciated.

My g-great grandfather was William Carney. He lived in Onslow Co., NC and his will was
dated 1858 in Onslow Co. On one of the census it showed that he was from Virginia. I do not know

BRIGGS -
Looking for the parents of Elias Briggs born about 1798 in Virginia. Not sure of the
county. He had half brothers and sisters named Isaac, John, Elizabeth, Nancy, Fanny, and Jacob.
They would have all had the same father but different mothers. Most of the kids moved to Kentucky

I am looking for George W Patterson who was born in Lynchberg, VA on October 6, 1859. He
married Minnie May in 1885. They had 6 children. The four surviving ones were Howard B, George W,
Samuel E and Clarence E. George died in 1904 at the age of 45 and was buried in Forest Hill
Cemetary, Birmingham, AL in 1904

BURROUGHS, KIRK -
I am searching for parents of Rozel Burroughs. He was in NC (Caswell Co.) in 1810 and 1820
census. He then moved to GA and is in the 1830 census for GA. He died in 1835. He married
Permelia Kirk in 1810 in Caswell. There was also a James (who I believe was his brother).
He was in NC and GA living close to Rozel. According to his bible pages it states that he was
born in St. Mary's MD. But nowhere does it state that Rozel was born there also. It could have
been VA/PA/MD/NC. Any help appreciated. Thanks

Looking for parents of John M Stanley b abt 1840 Virginia. Discharged from service,
probably out west, married Mahala E Ashford abt 1872 in Polk County, Arkansas. Moved to
Oklahoma. Shows in 1900 census as census taker and school teacher, Stuart, Oklahoma. This is not
the same John M Stanley of Botetourt County, Virginia. Parents supposedly were John
Stanley and Mary Kilpatrick.

DUBOSE, STOKES -
I hope you can help me. I have been trying unsuccessfully for several years to locate information
on my great-grandfather, Thomas Edward Stokes. This is what I know: He was born on July
30-31, 1881 somewhere in Virginia.
According to my grandmother (and her father died when she
was only 2!) he was from Virginia, but his parents died when he was a child and he was taken in
by his grandparents. She thinks he was from the Newport News/Norfolk area. He had an older
sister. . .perhaps named Clara who married a Dubose.
I know where and when he died --
in Savannah, Georgia on April 28, 1921. His marriage license, obituary, and death certificate are
not giving me any leads. I would love to request a birth certificate, but Virginia requires me to
give his parents' names, and I don't know them. Since the 1890 census burned, I can't find him
there.
My question is, does anyone have any suggestions of where I can go next, or how I can
get around the parents' name thing and request a birth certificate? I really think the birth
certificate is what I need to get my hands on! Thanks!
