ALEXANDER, BAILEY, BALL, BALTIMORE, MANN, MOTON, RUSSELL -
I am researching the surnames of: BALTIMORE, BALL, BAILEY, MANN, RUSSELL, ALEXANDER and MOTON of Fauquier & Alexandria Counties of Virginia. Note that all are of African descent. I have been stuck for a very long time on the Baltimores prior to the end of the Civil War. They lived in Alexandria, Virginia aprox. 1862-65, three of their childrens births(a set of twin girls that died and my gggrandfather Jacob Baltimore) are recorded in Rev. Gladwin's Record of Freedman and Contraband. Oscar and Maria Baltimore b. 1830 and 1842 in Virginia are first recorded in the Census of 1870 in Warrenton, Virginia Fauquier County. In Washington D.C. (city) there are records of Baltimores being freed as early as 1816 but I have been unable to connect my Baltimore line to the Washington Baltimores. Every year in Virginia there is a Baltimore Cousins Reunion that my family and the D.C. Baltimores attend but are unable to make a connection. Any assistance is appreciated.

GRALEY, GRAYLEY -
Still looking for any information regarding Francis Grayley/ Graley. Irish indentured servant. Convicted in Middelesex, England , sentenced on October 1772 or sailed to the American Colonies. I believe Francis was the father and Thomas the son . I am from that lineage. The Grayley name no longer has the first y. Today it is spelled Graley. I come from a large family located now mostly in West Virginia. Any information you can provide me with would be most appreciated. I believe Francis was an Ulsterman, Protestant, from the Church of England, Ste. Ann. Thank you
