HOBSON -
I am searching for the name Hobson in connection with settlement in old Virginia. My
family has lived Henry County, VA. since, I know, before the civil War and since I think this was
Lunenburg County 1749. If you know of any Hobson in the record of that date, could you
please let me know. The earliest kin I can find is Samuel Monroe Hobson who would be my
Great-Great-Great-Grandfather who was born in 1760 and lived until 1850. He is buried at Danview
Cemetery in Draper, Rockingham County, NC.

ALLEN, ANDERS, PRIDE -
My ancestor, William Allen was born between 1750 and 1756 somewhere in Virginia. He died
1830 in Texas and is buried in Pine Island Cemetery. His first wife was Keziah Anders,
daughter of William Anders, who died in North Carolina in 1821. So, perhaps William
Allen's family had already migrated to NC when he married. The next place where I think I
have him is Blount Co. TN in the 1790's. I believe it was there that he married his second wife,
Hannah Pride. He then traveled through Wilkinson Co. MS and settled in St. Helena Parish,
LA. As an elderly man, he moved to Texas with his children and grandchildren. Does anyone have an
Allen family in Virginia who lost a William?

LYTZ -
I am lookiing for any information on the Lytz family from Bristol, VA. The information I
have is that my grandfather Lucian Cook Lytz (from Alabama) was the younger son* of Lucian
Cook Lytz who was born in Bristol on 23 Apr 1880 and left there sometime, eventually
settling in Mobile, Al where he died in 1933. My great-grandfather was a younger son of Walter
Lytz who was born in 1844 and died in Bristol around 1917. Walter had a farm and it passed
on to his eldest son, and not Lucian. My grandfather believed that the family originally came
from Alsace-Lorraine. Any information, suggestions would be greatly appreciated as the internet
is pretty much all that I have to go on. *my grandfather had an older brother Walter who had two
sons: Karl and Walter and I think they ended up in Houston, TX at some point.

PARKER -
I have recently traced my family back through the generations to Dr. Alexander Parker. He
was born about 1690 in Virginia. He had two sons that I know of--William and Alexander. I am
wondering where he/they are buried. Also, if Dr. Parker was born in Virginia or came from
England. At one time he owned land in Bristol, England but don't know if it perhaps was just an
inheritance he received or if he had come from there. Any information you have will be most
appreciated. I'm really not sure of the county in which these Parkers lived, but it may have been
Spotsylvania. Again, thanks for any assistance. Barbara Rissman Drager

CLARE, ELLER, MURRAY, NORD -
I am insearch of info re: John Clarence Murray b. Richmond, VA 1898, spouse Maude
Eller b. Va 1902. Have been unable to learn if they had children. John B. Murray b.
1867 arrived Ellis Island from Ireland single, married Elizabeth H. Clare (no date or
place), but John Clarence was born to them in Richmond 6yrs later. My Father in law, John C. is
terminally ill and would appreciate any info on the father he never met. We know that John
Clarence made it to Albany, NY in 1923 to marry Signe Nord ( John C's mother) when he was
29. They had twin sons John C. and William (d) but "disappeared" within 2 years of their birth.
We do not know what happened to Maude Eller Murray. Was she the 1st wife or second? Any
children? There is a large gap from when John B. Murray arrived from Ireland, then birth
of John Clarence in Richmond, then marriage and birth of twins John C. and William in Albany NY.
Where does Maude Eller fit in? We are lost, any help is appreciated. All knowledgeable
family members are deceased. Any suggestions? Thanks. --
