BRANCH, JASPER -
I am looking for information on Phillip or Robert Branch whom I believe to be brothers. I
know that Robert was born in Amelia in 1873, and that he moved to Chesterfield County where he
married a woman named Alice also from Amelia. Her maiden name is unknown to me at this time.
Phillip, age 54, is on the 1900 census in Chesterfield County with a family and a wife named
Nellie Hilton Branch. All of these ancestors are African American and may have been in
slavery. Their records may been kept separately since they were not Caucasian. I would appreciate
any information that I could get regarding these two ancestors. They also had a sister named
Delia Branch Jasper. Please contact me if you can assist me in any way.

FORD, GORDON, LEWIS, WALLER -
I am looking for anything past a birth date, 1728, for one Christopher Ford, per LDS born
Virginia. I only learned of his existence today! He married a Lucy Lewis (same source), no
date, born 1728 in VA. Her father John Zachary Lewis was married and died in Spotsylvania,
her mother, Mary Waller born and died there. I descend from Zachary Ford who moved
to TN by 1800, married one Polly Gordon ("sister of Dr. Gordon" in family bible) in
VA. He was a surveyor. He died in TN in 1836 The Ford family Bible just starts with
Zachary Ford's birth in 1774. I have the descendents of Zachary ... it is backwards that I
don't have, like he just sprung out of nowhere in VA. First child is Lucy Lewis Ford so
that would validate that Christopher is father. LDS only gives year of birth and state for
Christopher Ford, but gives him as Zachary's father. I guess a county clue could be that
of his wife, Lucy Lewis, but I don't know if Spotsylvania and King and Queen County are
old or also current names. I question if Christoper fought in Revolutionary War. The name Zachary
comes down to my grandfather, uncle and cousin, so there may be other Zachary Fords.
Thanks for any help.

CONNER -
My great great grandfather and his son were both Virginia residents. Philip A. Conner
(Jul. 11/1755) was a young Brit who migrated to Virginia and in late 1775 at Hampton, enlisted in
the 3rd VA regiment of the Continental Line, where he served until 1781. We then lose most track
of Philip until he pops up in the Cincinnati area in 1815 seeking a War pension, in company of
his elder of two sons, Willoughby, born, we think, in Prince William Co., perhaps elsewhere, on
March 13, 1785. Similarly brother John B. Conner was born in 1793, somewhere in VA. While
we known Philip was a ferrier (horse shoer), Methodist lay minister or circuit rider (no evidence
of ordination), and lived for a period on a farm, we do not know: a) their County of residence
for sure, b) the name of Philip's spouse or the date or location of their marriage. While there
is some suggestion that the Conner's migrated to the Green River tract for VA war vets in
KY, we so far have no trace of them there. Any help in pinpointing the Conners in post War
Virginia by persons with access to records, would be much appreciated. As a partially disabled
retiree on social security only, I do not have the resources to hire a researcher or to travel
back there to do it myself. Thanks. Richard Conner, Las Vegas, NV.
