BRAGG, GIBSON, HENRY, JENKINS, POE, RADCLIFF, RAMSEY, REID, WELLS, WHORTON, WINES -
I am looking to research information on my mother's family.
My mother's name was Joan Frances Wells born in Fauquier County, VA. Her father's name was James William Wells, and her mother's name is/was Madeline Mary Bragg.
My mother and her siblings (Mary Elizabeth Wells and James William Wells) were placed in childcare in Tampa, FL for their childhood years. James W. Wells and Madeline M. Bragg were married in Warrenton, VA in 1948, James was born in Fauquier County (1927) and Madeline was born in Clarke County (1928). Madeline was born to Lena Belle Wines and Herman Sylvester Bragg in 1928 in Clarke County. James William Wells was born to Martha Jenkins and James William Wells in Warrenton County.
I am looking for additional information on how my mother and siblings ended up in a children's home in Florida and specifically the story of my grandmothers Madeline Wells Braggs life & documentation. I have obtained my mother's original birth certificate and my grandparents certificate for marriage. Madeline (on certificate Madaline Bragg, if that is her birth certificate) was born on 11/29/1928.
Schools: Robert E. Lee-Tampa, Hillsborough County; George Washington-Tampa; Hillsborough High School; Children's Home-Florida.
I found my mother's grandfather's obituary. How in this huge family could no one have looked for my mother & her siblings
