I am helping a friend do research and need some help. Her family, the STRATTONs, came to
Colonial Heights VA. Later some of them-the same last name- migrated to New York State and ran a
newspaper during the American Revolution. I realize that this is very sketchy information. Any

BEAVER, CONNER, LAWSON, MORTON, SPRADLING -
I'm searching for information on Richard Spradling, born somewhere in VA in the late
1700's. Richard married Elizabeth Beaver. Their children were Richard, MORTIMER (b@1816,
VA), Stanley, John N, Amanda (b@1823, Louisa and Mary Elizabeth. Mortimer married Levina
Lawson, 1838, in McMinn County, TN. Their children were Richard, Amanda, Andrew, Louisa,
Sarah, Sousan, HUGH H (b@1846,TN), Tyre, Polly Ann, Nancy E and Charlotte. Hugh H married
Elizabeth Conner, 1890, Cleburne County, AR. Their children were VERA BELLE (b 1892, AR),
Elizabeth A, Mary T, Ann L, Alice T, Gladys And May B. Vera Belle married James Morton and
they were my husband's grandparents. I've traced this family back to Richard, but now I'm
stalled. Does anyone have any information that might kick start my research again? I have other
bits and pieces of info on these folks that I'd be more than happy to share.

He was married in Barbour County WV to Eleanor (Helena) Frymire.. they lived in Harrison
County WV ... moved West to MO>KS 1866... I am attempting to find out where he was Born.. I also
want to know who
his PARENTS were and the names of any siblings ...I know this man was not born "under a Rock" ...
on a census it states Virginia.. my father said he kind of recalled Dinwiddle/Charlotte/, my dad
died in 1979 .. and all of his siblings are dead .. I had also asked them .. they didn't know ..
Fountain's children's names in order: Frances Rebeca, Hanna Lucinda, Benjiman Franklin Pierce,
Amanda Jane, William Perry, Annetta, Sarah Paulina, Stewart(d) Elsworth, Emma. Names used in the

I am looking for the following family. I have found them in KY but the census there says they are
from VA. Where in VA I have no clue and am hoping to find one. Thank you. William Woodard
who died 1846 in Bath Co KY married a woman named Elizabeth in VA who died in Bath Co, KY in
1848. This is gotten from their wills. Their children are: William B. who married a Jane
Anderson in VA. Both on the 1850 census in Bath Co KY it states were born in VA; John W.
born in VA married Sarah Anderson who was born in Fleming co KY; Mary Jane; Susannah who
married Toliver Anderson; Margaret who married William Botts Vice; Amanda who
married Thomas Church; and Turner Woodard. Does this ring any bells for anyone???

I am looking for a marriage for a Mourning Robinson who was born in 1801 to a William
Robinson and Frankie (Fanny) Winfree. In Cumberland county, Va. She married a man
with the last name Wyatt. Their first daughter was born 1825 so I would assume prior to
that. Information on any other siblings would be appreciated. We have all information on all of

Seeking Genealogy information about my father; Edward Roy Watts born in Richmond Virginia
on Oct 4, 1907 or Oct 4, 1914. His father's name was John Watts and his mother's maiden
name was Elisabeth Dunn. My father came to Tucson Arizona as a young man and married
Filomena Dennett. They had three children; Edward John, Robert Waldo and Delia Gloria
Watts. He supposedly had brothers and sisters in Virginia, so therefore there must be some
descendants of John Watts and Elisabeth Dunn Watts, somewhere in Virginia.

James GREEN b. 1805 in Va. County unknown. Moved to Tenn. and m. Martha Arnold abt.
1830. Son William Grantlin Green was born in TN. I believe in Lincoln Co. James and Martha
were in Jackson Co., Al. by 1835 when their second son, Ralph Arnold Green was born in
1835. James GREEN and his father-in-law Ralph ARNOLD were on the same page in the

I'm searching for Samuel Gill or MacGill or McGill, who probably came to the
U.S. from Ireland in the 1700's or was the son or grandson of a Scots-Irish immigrant by those
names in the 1700's. I haven't been able to locate any published references to him anywhere.
Samuel's children were born in Halifax County, Virginia, in the early 1800's. Sons John and James
had moved to Floyd County, Virginia, by the 1840 census and were listed as Gill.

BRADLEY, PAIGE, WHITE -
I am searching for the parents of John W. WHITE b. 1786 in Va (county unknown) d. 1853 in
Wilson Co. Tn. John went to Wilson Co in 1805, md Susannah Bradley, d/o John
Bradley JR. Susannah was also born in VA. It is possible that John W. White is
related to Henry and Celia Paige White, but I have no proof since I can not find
the county John W. was born. Only a theory, but possible that John W.'s parents died when he was
an infant and was raised by some of Henry White's children, or perhaps Henry himself. If

My gg grandfather, Thomas Saltsman, died in Davidson County TN in 1902 - his obit said he
was born in 1825 in Saulter County VA though the 3 census records I found him in said he was born
in Ohio and my grandmother, who was 8 when he died, told me he was born in Germany and lived in
PA in his childhood. Have been unable to locate a "Saulter" county or city in VA or in any other
state in my Atlas. Was there ever such a place in VA?

I am searching for m gr-gr-gr gandfather, (George) Carter , 1750 ton1775 in ( Buckingham)
Co., Va. This information is somewhat vague. Of this I am sure. The family migated to
Lincoln-Garrard Co.Ky about 1814 after the Peace War. Mrs. Carter (name unknown) lived
with her son, Childers. Other children were: William Married Mary Hall 1821 and he died in
1826, She remarried James Gafney 1832. They with others came to Greene Co. Il about 1855.
Other children besides Childers were Benjamin, John, Henry, Joseph, George, Elizabeth and
Catherine wife of Peter Faulkner. The family lived on the Faulkner plantation in
Ky. Does anyone know where George, Sr. was?? Or who his wife was???????? Sincerely,

CHINN, GUNN -
I have been trying to locate the presence of William Lafayette Chinn for many years. I
have located his descendants and I am one of them. I found out that he married a Martha Helen
Gunn in the mid 1800's and fathered children from that marriage. He also fathered the late
famous Dr. Mae Edward Chinn. I understand he had many siblings but I can't locate any.
According to some people, he was either freed or escaped from the Chinn Plantation in
Manassas, VA. I have uploaded my family tree to Family Tree and MyFamily.com and will share it
with anyone. Any and all information would be greatly appreciated.

BOULTER -
Looking for information on Boulter. Herbert O Boulter settled in VA after severing
in the Spanish American war. Have found records that he is buried in Hampton National. If my
information is correct He was born Feb 8 1879 in Bridgend Wales, arrived in the USA in the early
part of 1884, (lived in Ohio and New York) and died Feb 8 1950 in VA. His father William H
Boulter I believe moved to VA in the early 1900's from Ohio.
