MUSCOE, WRIGHT -
I am searching for information in Virginia concerning Musco Wright, who was born in ca.
1750/51, parents unknown. He married Mary, maiden name unknown, in ca. 1766 to ca. 1779. Their
children were named: Thomas, Joseph Henry, Caleb, Martin, Ann, and possibly James, Lewis, and
William, just in case he may have named a couple of them after his parents. They left the state
after Jan. of 1778.
Musco Wright was in the 10th Virginia
Regiment, 2nd. Brigade, 5th Division, under Capt. Richard Stevens, during the Revolutionary War.
Some of the other Wright's in his unit were named: Moses, Richard, Parsons, Paul, Thomas,
William, Robert, and James, just in case a few of them may have been his brothers.
It is believed that possibly he could have been the product of the marriage of 2
old VA. families...Muscoe and Wright, who originated in St. Anne's Parish, Essex
County, VA. However, it is also said that the 10th Virginia Regiment was comprised of soldiers
from the western part of VA.
I am searching for any information that you
might have concerning Musco Wright and his family origins in VA., and any help would be very much
appreciated.

I'm looking for anyone from any county who might have a MOORE grave from the 17th, 18th,
or 19th century marked by a headstone shaped like a man's head and shoulders. I've found that
type of stone in two of my family's cemeteries, one in Kentucky, and the other in Virginia, and
located about 30 miles apart. On one of the round top "head" shapes, is the inscription, "This is
my crown". Since I cannot go back beyond 1790, I hope this might be a clue.
