COLEMAN, JENKINS,
JOY -
I have a death certificate for my father-in-law's half brother, Ray JENKINS, jr. who
passed away at the age of 7 at Children's Hospital, Washington D.C., August 1908. His parents
were Ray Thompson JENKINS and Lilly W. (COLEMAN) Jenkins. Lilly was already
deceased at the time of Ray's death, and Ray Sr. had remarried to Cora Estelle JOY from
southern Prince George Co., Md. Ray Sr.'s new father-in-law (James Edward JOY) was an
undertaker (had moved from Hughesville, P. G. Co., Md. to Berwyn, P. G. Co., Md) and signed Ray
jr.s Death Certificate.
As part of Ray Jr's death certificate was a form for transporting the
body.
The form stated that Ray Jr's body had been prepared (by J. E. JOY) for transport on
the W & S RR to Lesterminer, Va. for burial 2 days later.
My questions:
Is anyone
familiar with the W & S RR in 1908 from Washington D. C. to ?
Is anyone familiar with
Lesterminer, Va.? The closest I've been able to come is a Lester Manor in King William Co.
The father, Ray Sr., was presumably from Cumberland Co., Va. The mother, Lilly's, background, I
have no information.
Thanks, Dave

MARTIN -
Searching for any information on Sidney [initial M. in 1900, A. in 1910] Martin, born
1856, in Virginia. In 1900 census he was in Philadelphia, 1910 in New Jersey. Birth place
recorded as Virginia in both. Believe he died before 1920 census as his wife, Ida, is found in
the 1920 census, New Jersey, recorded as mother-in-law and widow. He does not appear in either
Ancestry or Heritage Quest, born or living, in Virginia. I have subsequent family history for any
one interested.

HAZEL -
Caleb HAZEL, Sr. The only clue I have as to his home is the fact that he enlisted from VA.
to fight in the Revolutionary War. I wish I had access to the PA. archives! Thanks,
