FLEMING, RAY -
Looking for parents of Samuel Ray, born about 1830. I found his name on a Register of US Army Enlistments, 1798-1914. He enlisted 29 Jan 1848 in Cumberland, MD, he was 19 years old, he was born in Frederick County, VA and permission to enlist was signed by a person with the last name Eckles. I can't determine the first name of Eckles from the signature. Samuel was in the 7th Infantry Co. C and mustered out at Jefferson Barracks, MO.the 29th of August 1848.
Civil War records of Illinois Volunteer Infantry in 1862 indicate his "nativity" as VA, & states that he was 32 at the time he entered the Infantry. He died Sept. 1864 in Georgia from wounds sustained at Lovejoy Station. He married Cynthia Fleming in Cooperstown, Brown Co. IL in 1854. Any information would be appreciated. He was my great, great grandfather.

BARKELOW, FEARINGTON -
I am interested in finding any information on William Fearington who states he was born in NC. He is in the 1850 census of Owsley Co, KY as being 34. So sometime between 1816 and 1823 (1823 is due to another census in 1860 from Laurel Co, KY). Do not have any parent info.
I am also interested in finding any information on Nathaniel Barkelow who was to have been born in Berkeley Co, VA which is now West Virginia around 1798 and died in Knox Co, OH between 1840-1850. Parents I believe are Cornelius Barklow and an Elizabeth something.

Any information about Elizabeth EPPERSON, born c. 1771, possibly in Culpepper Co. Supposed to have married Berryman STOKES, who is buried in Putnam Co., IN as a Rev. Vet. He died in 1839/40. He/they went to KY about 1810 and thought to have bought land in Montgomery Co., KY. He may have had a brother (or other relation) named Robert.
