McKNIGHT -
I am searching for any information about my g-g-grandfather. He is listed as J.W.
McKnight, born in VA. around 1810. The 1880 TEXAS Census record I found on him lists him
as 71 yrs. old and being born in VA. His wife is listed as Catherine (no maiden name) and she is
51, born TN. Any help would be appreciated. I have no idea where to start looking in VA. Thanks.

SLAPE, SLOPE -
My g g g grandfather, William Floyd Slape, born 1793, is listed as having been born in
Virginia, with no county listed. He moved to Hamilton Co. Tn, where he shows up in the 1840
census records. In that census, the name is misspelled "Slope". Other researchers have
also tried to find William in Virgina, without success. Does anyone there know of a Slape
family anywhere in Va in the 1700's to early 1800's?

HILL, STYRON -
Looking for any information on my direct ancestor named Wise Hill, wife and parents
unknown. Children were Hannah Hamilton Hill Styron, John, Henry, and Peter
Hill I. Was on the eastern shore of Virginia circa 1730-1740. After that, ended up in
eastern North Carolina, Carteret County. Theory is that he might have been connected to the Wise
family on the eastern shore.

BRANNON, JOHNSTON -
Looking for information on my Brannon ancestors. John Walter Brannon born apx. 1823
in Virginia (possibly Martinsburg). According to family history he met Mary A. Johnston
while traveling through Louisiana as a soldier in the federal army. After he got out of the army
he returned to Louisiana as a carpenter and married Mary in 1851 in New Iberia, St. Martins
Parish, LA. They had 5 children, born in Louisiana: Walter Thomas, Virgina Boyd, Mary Elizabeth,
James Harrison, and W.B. Any information regarding John W. Brannon's life in Virginia, his

Hoping to find death date of Phoebe (Phebe) Wilber/Wilbur Hall who may have died in
Alleghany Springs, Montgomery Co. about 1830-33. She was the wife of Jesse Hall, a
Continental Army vet. They moved to Virginia from Dutchess Co., New York in or around 1796.Any

FOSTER -
I am looking for William A. Foster who was born in l801 in Va. I have found a William A.
Foster in the 1820 census for Shenandoah Co., but cannot prove that he is the right one.
The William Foster I am looking for moved to Pa. in the 1840s and spent the remainder of
his life there. He was possibly married to Sarah and sons were Martin, Asbury, and Erastus all
born in Va. A daughter, Mary was later born in Pa. Any information would be greatly appreciated.

Clag/ Clagg married Judith Watson 12/7/1800 and moved to Logan Co WV and
Galia Co Ohio. Sons William and James Clag/Clagg born in Bedford Co VA settled in Logan Co
WV, then moved to Illinois.

I am looking for Joseph Miller who was 82 when his name appeared on the 1860 Franklin
County, Tennessee Census. He states that he was born in Virginia. According to my calculations he
was born in 1778. I believe that Joseph may have had a daughter named Mary who married J.M.
Burk. Joseph is listed in their home in the 1860 census. Any information on Joseph
Miller and his family will be appreciated.

Hello. I need help locating a Theodore Reed in the 1870 Virginia census. He may have been
in Selma, VA. He was an Episcopal minister who moved around alot within Virginia. I have his
inventory ( no will) of 1889 which mentions an unnamed wife, daughter and son. The census will

MORRIS -
I am looking for some ancestors of Elzy MORRIS, born in Virginia in May, 1823. He traveled
to Hardin County, Ky. with his parents as a young boy. He eventually married there, then moved on
