STEEL -
Am hoping to connect with someone who has information on my gr-gr- grandfather, Hugh
Steel. His gravestone in Indiana says he was born in 1770, but WHERE? In 1796 he married
Catherine Dunn in Bourbon County, Kentucky. If he was born in the same area, it would have been
part of Virginia in 1770--Kentucke Co., I believe. Sure hope someone can help! Thanks!

TOY -
Crawford Howell TOY (1836-1919), prominent Baptist minister and author. Appears to have
been from Virginia. During the Civil War, he was chaplain of the 53rd Georgia Vol.
Infantry and was captured at Gettysburg, Pa., July 5, 1863. Published author seeks a wartime
photograph of Rev. Toy to feature in the upcoming book, "Georgia At Gettysburg". Any of
his war correspondence and postwar reminiscences regarding his Gettysburg experience also wanted.

Aberdeen Orphanage late 1800s ----- Family lore has that my grandfather was fullblood
Indian adopted as a child in Aberdeen, Virginia. I am told that Aberdeen is not a town; but that
there was an orphanage there long ago. Does anyone know of this place or how I could find out
about his Indian heritage and who my biological great-grandparents were?

I've been searching for the marriage of Archibald Stewart and Rebecca Cooper some
time around 1794-98. I know they were married, but not sure what state. I know they moved to KY
around 1789. They may have stopped in VA or even met there and possibly married there. I need
help finding their marriage or the birth of their first child, Mary Stewart b. 1789. I'd

Looking for parents and siblings of Robert GRAHAM b. Jan 1836 in VA. By 1880 he was in
Loudon Co, TN and married to Martha E. UNKNOWN. (I believe this was the 2nd marriage though)
Children are: George, Tennie, Mattie, Mary, Street James (my line) and Mary J. All born in TN
1862-1877. By 1900 Robert was living with his son, Street, in Alcorn Co, MS. He was widowed.
Robert was a blacksmith. I will gladly share any info I have.

McDAVID, WILLIAMSON -
I am searching for information about William Williamson born January 10, 1764 and died
November 28, 1852. He married Rosannah McDavid? January 10, 1795. The 1850 Anderson, S. C.
census shows him as being born in Virginia. By November 12,1795 he was living in South Carolina
and had a son, Mastin Williamson. His other children include: James, Mary (Polly), Nancy,
William, David, Sarah and Jane Williamson. If anyone has any information about these

PARNELL, PURNELL -
I am looking for any info on Shelton Jacobs b. abt 1811 somewhere in VA. I have been told
he was in Culpeper and/or Stafford County but I haven't found him in these places yet. Shelton
moved to Greenup County KY and married Ann Eliza Nichols. Their children were John William
Jacobs, Rachel Jacobs Belford, Cassa Jacobs, Adaline Jacobs Bays, Anne E. Jacobs
Parnell/ Purnell, and William L. Jacobs. I think they were all born in Greenup
County KY. Shelton's 2nd wife was Savilla/Civilla Jones. Shelton died in 1880 in Greenup.
Any info on Shelton and his parents is greatly appreciated. I've hit a brick wall.

Dodd. They were 1st cousins. Mary Jane's mother was Mary Ann Dodd her father (I
have been told) was Morton Fannin. I believe he was from Virginia. I can trace Mary Ann
Dodd back through William Anderson but can't find anything about my great gradfather

DALTON, DAULTON, HILL -
Looking for John HILL b N.C. 1816 Married Eliza ??? b VA 1820. They were married ?1845?.
They are in Hawkins Co., TN in 1850. They are in Tipton Co., Tn in 1870. I cannot find them in
1860. Eliza's maiden name may have been DALTON/ DAULTON. In 1860 in Tipton Co. I
have found James & Polly DAULTON both 70 yr old from Va. with Thomas Hill 14 yr.
old b Tn. I believe this is my ggrandfather, and the Daultons are poss grandparents(?).
Any info on HILL or DALTON/DAULTON very much apperciated. Thanks Sue
