McDONALD -
I am looking for the names of the parents and the birthplace of my great - great grandfather, William Lee McDonald. The 1880 Federal Census of Contra Costa Co. California states his place of birth as Virginia. It states that Virginia was also the place of birth for both of his parents. William L McDonald was born in 1836. He was married in Ralls, MO in 1857.
Thank you for any possible information you might have

WILLIAMS -
I am the great-great grandson of Blackston Williams. This is as far back as I can go in my Williams ancestry.
Blackston Williams (wife Oma) had a twin, John (wife Catherine). They were borned about 1810 in southwest Virginia, probably Lee County. About 1844 or 1845 they moved to Claiborne County, Tennessee. The 1860 census for Claiborne County lists Blackston, age 50, born in Va., wife Oma, age 45, born in Va., daughters Rebecca, age 18, and Nancy, age 16, borned in Va. Other children are Paton, William, Mary (also called Polly, I think), Martha, Joesph, and Jane all born in TN.
Lee County, Va. tax lists for 1810 listed John, Isaac, and Joseph Williams. Lee Cy., census 1820 listed George, Henry, Hezekiak, William, John Williams. Lee Cy., census 1830 listed Charles, Evins, James, John, and Zezkiah Williams.
However, I can't connect Blackston and John to any of the earlier men listed. Thank you for any information you have.

RAYMOND -
I am searching for a Raymond family from Eliot Mills, Va. I have found only a couple of references to this town at all, but the birth record of my great grandfather in Massachusetts lists his father, John W. Raymond, as born in Elliott Mills, Va; I believe he was born around August 1856 (est. from the 1900 census). Other docs, such as John's marriage record in Mass., lists his birthplace as Washington, DC, with parents Frederick W. and Eva Raymond. I would appreciate any help you can provide.

HALL, SMITH -
Looking for Mary Hall b. cir 1807 in VA who married James W. Smith also from VA. They had at least 3 children born in VA named Clemenza Smith b. 1829; Pyrenee Smith, born, 1821; and Lucretia Smith b. 1834. It's possible there was another child (son) ahead of all of these daughters. This info comes from an 1850 Census record in Whitley, IN. There is a DAR application that states Pyrenee was born in Nelson County. Any information on James W. Smith who appears in the 1840 Whitley Co., Smith Twp, IN census in the 30 and under 40 age group, would be appreciated. I have not been able to find a break in this for a very long time.

LIGHTFOOT, MORRIS -
I am searching for my paternal Morris ancestors. My grandfather, Robert Daniel Morris, Sr. (died 1961) was the son of Jesse Morris and Rebecca (nee' Lightfoot) Morris, who lived in Culpepper (County?), Virginia. I do know that in 1964 my grandfather's sister Odetta was still living somewhere in that vicinity. I am looking for anyone who might have any information about the Morris side (my father's side) of the family.

LANGAN, LANGHAM, LONG -
I hope you can help me. I am trying to find out some history on my family. My grandmother's grandmother came to Tennessee from Virginia, but I can't find out any information about her before she came to TN. I do not know what county she was in. Her name was Catherine (Kate) Langham (or Langan) Long and she was born about 1855. Her parents were Michael and Mary Langham. I have the TN Marriage record for her marrying John Long in 1872, but have nothing prior to that event. Her mother, Mary Langham also came to TN about 1877 as a widow. I do not have any information on Michael. Catherine also had a brother, Patrick and a sister, Bridget. They were Irish Catholic, if that helps. Please let me know if you find out anything. I am blocked.
