I am looking for my ancestral family of Stancell. Arthur Stancell (b. 18??) lived
in the Newport News-Portsmouth Va. area. He had one son, Larney W. Stancell (b.
1914-d.1992). Arthur Stancell married Dora Harris from Kembridge, Va. This is all

child (plus maybe others): William J. b. 3/1859 Peach Orchard, Lawrence Co., KY d. 6/24/1931
Montgomery, Fayette Co., WV married Virginia Bell Mabel Edleman on 10/19/1881 in Peyton,
Boone Co., WV. Virginia was daughter of Jacob C. Edlemand and Delethe Snodgrass.

ZERNOW -
ZERNOW Surname. I am researching the related ancestral family name of ZERNOW. I
recently came across a NC death certificate of a Lelia Reeves ZERNOW who was born on 25
January 1890 in Virginia, county unknown, and died, unmarried, on 18 September 1983 in Buncombe
County, NC. My husband's related ancestor is John ZERNOW born ca. 1811 in PA. and later
relocated to Charleston, SC., where he married, wife unknown. I am trying to trace the
decendants of this John ZERNOW. There would be a two generation gap between John
ZERNOW and Lelia Reeves ZERNOW. I don't know if there is a related connection or
not. If anyone has this family surname in their genealogy or any information pertaining to the
name ZERNOW,

Co., PA, 11/30/1759; d. Sevier Co. TN 1841; I have found no record of him from his completion of
tour of duty with the Continental Army in Culpeper Co., VA in 1880 until he showed up in Sevier
Co., TN. sometime before 1798. I'm confident that he spent that 17 years or so in Virginia or the
Carolinas. I seek to exchange information with anyone who thinks they may have a connection with
this line.

MILLER, ROGERS -
I am looking for information on the Rogers family from Appalachia Va. or Big Stone Gap.
My great Grandfather was Sheridan Rogers. He married Fannie Miller. She was the
daughter of Allen P. or T. Miller. Sheridan and Fannie had several children, Mary Nettie,
Edmond, Worley, Ora, Rebecca, Arthur, and Maude Estelle, my Grandmother. Sheridan and Fannie
also had two or three more children who died. Fannie had several brothers, I know two
names--Solomen and Doc. I think she had a sister named Mert. Sheridan had a brother named
Thurmond. I would be grateful for any information.

BEELER, DUNN, SMITH -
I'm looking for information on my ancestor, Thomas DUNN, who was born Jan 17, 1765 and
immigrated from VA as a teenager with an unknown brother. They probably were from Montgomery Co,
later Wythe Co, and traveled west in a caravan. Because of sickness, Thomas was left in TN with
a Beeler family. He did not continue west but settled in TN and married Margaret
BEELER Smith. Margaret had a daughter, Sarah, by her first marriage to a
Smith. Thomas and Margaret Dunn's children were: Johnny, Francis, Mary, Joseph,
Anna Christina, Catherine, and William Beeler. I'm searching for Thomas' parents and siblings.

Looking for John Henry Lynn who married Bartha or Bertha Elizabeth Cooper. I have
no info on parents or siblings. They had 10 children. She died in Vienna VA on 16 April 1896.
He proceeded her. 1880 Soundex indicated that at that time he was 45 and she was 42. So he was
born around 1835 and she around 1838. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I am trying to identify which county I need to research in for the following: Samuel
Corbitt Sr., d. 1789 names the following children in his will. Johnson, Richard, John,
Samuel, Jr., Shadrack, Elias, Mary, Elizabeth, Amy and Cherry. Also, cannot find a record of the
parents of Samuel Corbitt Sr. I know that the above will was filed in Isle of Wight Co in
1789, however, I also know that several other counties were once part of Isle of Wight. Any info
that can help me locate the necessary records will be appreciated. Will share any info I have.

LEE, LUCAS -
I am looking for the parents and syblings of Thomas Jefferson LEE, who was born Sept. 19,
1833 in an unknown co., in Virginia. Thomas's family moved when he was 5 years old, ca. 1838, to
an unknown Co., in Ohio. When Thomas was 15 years old, ca. 1848, the family moved to an unknown
co., in Indiana, or at 15, could Thomas have gone to Indiana alone?? Can anyone tell me, how I
might find a birth record for Thomas, in VA., when I don't know the county? Or if anyone has any
access to Birth Records for VA and could do a lookup for me, I would very much appreciate any
help. Or if there are any LEE families who moved to Ohio ca. 1838, would like to hear from
decended researchers. Thomas's sons are named John, James, Silas, Grant, Frank, and Albert.
Daughters are Sarah Elizabeth, Alice Mary, Ellen Frances (Frances Ellen), Florence, Laura, and
Susan. Thomas married Sept. 1854 in Greene Co., Ohio, to Sarah "Mary Jane"
LUCAS, and they were in the 1860 Delaware Co., Indiana Census, and in the 1870 Powesheik
Co., Iowa census. I would appreciate any help in trying to place Thomas with his LEE

who according to Georgia Census of 1840 was born in 1775 in Virginia. In 1790, he was listed as a
witness to probate records in Edgefield Co., S.C. Mitchell is also known to be spelled
Mitchel in some documents. J. Hinchey Mitchell's son Allen David married Elmina
Estes, whose ggrandfather was Charles Estes, born July 31, 1735,in Hanover Co. Va.

I am looking for information on Alexander Morrison who was born ca 1760 somewhere in
Virginia. He is listed as a Revolutionary War soldier in Virginia. I find him first in Jackson
County, Ga. and have been unable to connect him with any Virginia family. So I'm asking for your
help if you have an Alexander of the right age in your Morrison family. I might add that I
