Searching for the parents of Mordecai PIERCE or PEARCE. Kentucky Census Records
say he was born in Virginia (perhaps Fayette County) about 1786. He was living in KY by 1810.

HOLT -
Looking for William Holt. I have he first to America, settled in NY then to VA. had a son
Edward Holt 12/02/1794, died in Tenn Cocke co in 10-26-1875. No idea where Edward born
just in VA. Need proof of father begin William. Everyone says George. I have 2 sources that said

TURNER -
I am looking for info on a Julius Turner who was listed in the 1850 census of Orange Co.
IN. as being born in. VA. I think he later moved to KY. where he had a son Benjamin (although
this could be his bro.) with Ruth ? who is also listed as being born in KY. as well as Benjamin.
From KY. they migrated to Orange Co. IN., and then to Clay Co. IL. Any info available would be
very much appreciated. I also will share any info I have, but as you can tell it's not much. Ira

LANDES, LANDIS, PEACOCK -
PEACOCK- Elijah (b:12-4-1820) born to Caleb and Elizabeth (Landes/ Landis)
Peacock in an unknown county, VA. I know that Caleb (b:1787?) was born in Hardy County, now in
WV. Elizabeth (b:1780?) and Caleb were married in Hardy County VA in 1807. I think that Elijah is
their son, but can't find anything to confirm this. Elijah married (?no name) and moved to
Schuyler County, Birmingham Township. On a 1860 Schuyler County census, he was listed with who I
think is my gg grandfather, William Morgan Peacock (b:6-12-1847). I would like to find
out more information on this Caleb/Elijah/William Peacock line. If you have any info,

Tracing the John Silvey family who left Virginia late 1700s early 1800s. Not much
information other than John had nine children -- four known names: Gabriel, James Alexander,
Amassas. Wife unknown. I have just recently been bitten by the genealogy bug and have ran into a
brick wall with the Silvey line in Virginia. Thanks for any help.

OPIE -
I am searching for the surname Opie. I know that there were Opies in Lancaster and
Richmond Counties and even back to Northumberland County in the 1600s. I have been unable to
find anything about my GGrandfather, George Winfield Opie, who was supposedly born Feb 8,
1836 in Springfield, KY. I am looking for a possible link between him (his Parents) and the
Opies of Virginia. I have some documentation of a Thomas Opie born about 1822 in
Northumberland, VA. Clearly, the transitions of counties between Virginia and Kentucky are

I am searching for the parents and birthplace of Charles H. Tarrants. He may have been
born in Virginia around 1840. He is listed on the 1880 CA Census with his wife, Virginia,

LEIGHT, LIGHT -
Just discovered that my husband's great grandfather Aaron Harry (or
Harry Aaron) Leight was born 1-6-1877 somewhere in Virginia. He lived his life in Butler,
PA. The Butler, PA 1910 census shows that his parents were also born in VA. Need to know the
names of his parents. Name may have been spelled differently, such as "LIGHT".

I am looking for the parents of John Armstrong who was born in Virginia, moved to Kentucky
and then to Ohio, where he married Malinda Hinton. He moved to Kanawha county where his
son, Thomas, was born in 1814 and then back to Ohio. John's father was allegedly killed by

Richard White, was the father of Thomas, also of Lancaster Co. Thomas had a son Thomas
White, who had a son Isaac White who married 1740 and had John and Tarpley
White. Tarpley White b1741 in Henrico Co, Va married Elizabeth Diver in

MIX, PETTES -
Pettes surname - In early 1800s Amos Mix moved to Va. from Towanda, Pa. with wife
and children. One of the children was Anna Mix, born Sept. 21 1789 in Vt. While there she
married a Mr. Pettes. This took place sometime before 1812 because some of her children
were born in Va. Abigail b. 1812, John b. 1816?, Julia Ann b.1818? and B.A. (Benjamin) b. 1820.
Her fifth child seems to have been born in Mass. Reuben b.1824. He is my gg grandfather. Any
