| The Tannery Cemetery The Cemetery is located In Cadet Section of Big Stone Gap Va. From the cadet bridge you cross the railroad tracks, go to the stop sign, turn Left onto Main Ave. W., Go to the stop sign, at the stop sign look straight up the hillside in the woods (Cem. is not visible from the road) is where the cemetery is about 50yds up the hillside. Its very grown up & not been taken care of at all in a long time. There are many graves there that isn’t listed here, Either the stone wasn’t readable, or No-stone, Or just that I didn’t see them because the woods has overtook this cemetary along time ago. The Cemetery got its name from the old Tannry & Extract Factory (where they tanned leather) that was across the railroad tracks, adjacent the cemetary. (by T.
