The Hensley-Addington Cemetery

 
 
Description: The Hensley-Addington  Cemetery is a smaller cemetery located East of US Highway 23 near Quest River and Critical Fork.  It sits high on a hill and has a small outside chapel for services. It was donated by Mr. Hensley to his neighbors and friends at no charge.  This still applies.  There is a small sign at the bottom of the hill which reads Addington-Hensley Cemetery.

Directions:  Take US Highway 23 to 823 near Wise, Va.  Travel on   823 about 2-4 miles to Rocky Fork Road (626) turn left on Rocky Fork Road.  Stay on 626 until you come to a sign Addington-Hensley Cemetery.  This is on the left hand side of the road at the bottom of the entrance-way. 

Misc. Notes:  This is a rather steep hill on the side of the mountain which opens up at the top of the hill.  There is plenty room to park and turn around.  There is an Annual Meeting each year at the cemetery with a church service which is usually held on the last Sunday in July.  There are a lot of unmarked graves and crosses in this Cemetery along with old and new headstones. The stones are sporadic and most if  not all are legible, although some only have very limited information.  This list is to be used for geneaology research only.
